IRC?

It's been a whole long time and I don't remember how to connect with IRC. irc.stardock.com? Wincustomize browser won't connect. Please remind me.

SDC will connect ... irc.stardock.com is what my settings show ..

hmm. hasn't connected for me. I've got a hardware firewall, I wonder if that's the problem? I haven't had problems with anything else.

SD Central won't connect to irc.stardock.com. I'm using port 6667 but all I get is "unable to resolve server". I haven't used the WC browser for quite a while now (the website gives more more screen space. Is there any reason to expect it would work differently? I did try mIRC with the same results.

Might need to forward port 6667 to your system's LAN adress.

Thx Hippy - can you suggest how? I'm really thick when it comes to settings for the router (the only firewal I use). FWIW, I'm currently trying on my old dinosaur machine with the same results. I think WOM is right about the firewall.

And there it was. McAfee blocks irc by default. Once I changed the settings, all is well.
